Scaffolding along the front of a home with the roof sheeted in blue

Scaffolding for roof work

Edge-protected access for roofing, guttering and painting across Scotland — built around your property and the trades working on it.

Roofing scaffolding

Safe access at roof level

  • Edge-protected platforms
  • SG4 · TG20 standards
  • CHAS accredited

Roof work is where safe access matters most. Whether slates are being replaced, a roof is being stripped and re-covered, or the gutters and fascias need attention, we put up scaffolding that gives your roofers a stable platform at eaves level, with edge protection wherever the work meets the drop.

Every scaffold is designed around the roof in front of us — its height, its pitch, the ground below and the materials that have to come up and down. It is inspected while it stands, and where the weather could hold the job up we can put a temporary roof over the work.

Roof work we scaffold for

Most roofing scaffolds we put up are for one of these jobs. If yours isn’t on the list, it is still worth asking — we build to suit the property.

Full-length access along the eaves for stripping and re-covering, with loading bays where slates or tiles have to come down.

  • Roof repairs

Access for replacing slipped or broken slates and tiles, repairing flashings and tracing leaks.

  • Guttering & downpipes

Short-duration platforms along the roofline for gutters, downpipes and other rainwater goods.

  • Fascias & soffits

Access along the eaves for replacing or repairing the boarding at the edge of the roof.

  • Roofline painting

Platforms at eaves height for decorating fascias, soffits and the top of the walls.

  • Chimney stacks

Access to a stack from the roof scaffold, for repointing, rebuilding or taking it down.

Safety

Safe working at roof height

Roof work means working next to a drop, with materials going up and coming down. Every roofing scaffold we erect follows SG4 and TG20 guidance and the Work at Height Regulations, with guard rails and toe boards along every working edge, and our scaffolders keep their qualifications and training up to date.

Once it is up we inspect it at handover and at regular intervals while it stands, with extra checks after bad weather, so the structure stays safe for as long as your roofers need it.

Our inspection service
  • Guard rails and toe boards along every working edge
  • Erected and dismantled to SG4 and TG20 guidance
  • Inspected at handover, then at least every seven days
  • Extra checks after high winds, with a written report each time

Questions about roofing scaffolding

The questions we hear most often about scaffolding for roof work. If yours isn’t here, the team is happy to talk it through.

Get in touch
  • Do you put up scaffolding for roofers as well as homeowners?

Yes. Our domestic scaffolding is designed for homeowners and for the roofers and small contractors working for them, so whoever is organising the job can book it.

  • Can the scaffold take slates and roofing materials?

Where slates, tiles or other materials have to come up or down, we can build a loading bay into the scaffold. Tell us what is going up and down when you enquire, so the scaffold can be designed for the load.

  • Can you supply temporary roofs?

Absolutely. Our team designs and installs temporary roof structures to protect your site from the elements. This is especially useful during roof works or when weather could otherwise cause delays.

  • How long can the scaffolding stay up?

For as long as the work needs it. While it stands we inspect it at handover and at least every seven days, with extra checks after high winds, so it stays safe if your programme runs on. Let us know the dates you expect to be working when you enquire, so the scaffold can be planned around them.

  • Does scaffolding on the pavement need a licence?

If any part of the scaffold has to stand on a public footpath or road, the local authority has to license it before it goes up. Mention it when you enquire so it can be allowed for in the programme.

  • How do you ensure safety on-site?

Safety is our top priority. All scaffolding is designed and erected to meet current UK safety regulations, including SG4, TG20, and Working at Height standards. Our qualified team also carries out regular inspections and provides health and safety reports to ensure full compliance throughout your project.

  • Which areas do you cover?

We’re based in Airth, Stirlingshire, and proudly serve clients in Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, Fife, and across Scotland. If your project falls outside these areas, feel free to get in touch — we may still be able to help.
