Scaffolding for extensions and renovations
Scaffolding built around extensions, repairs and refurbishments across Scotland — and adapted as your project moves on.
Extension & renovation
Built around your project
- Adapted as the work progresses
- SG4 · TG20 standards
- CHAS accredited
An extension or a renovation rarely stands still. Walls go up, openings are formed, gables are rebuilt and the outside of the house is rendered or painted — and the scaffold has to keep up. We design it around the property and your programme, so your builders have safe access at every stage.
We look after the whole job: design, installation, inspection while it stands, and removal once the work is finished. When the work changes — a wall is raised, a roof goes on or the next elevation starts — we adapt the scaffold to suit.
Typical jobs
Building work we scaffold for
Most extension and renovation scaffolds we put up are for one of these jobs. If yours isn’t on the list, it is still worth asking.
-
Single-storey extensions
Access for building the walls and roof of a ground-floor extension, and for tying it into the house.
-
Two-storey extensions
Full-height scaffolding for raised walls, new roofs and the join with the existing house.
-
Renovations & refurbishments
Scaffolding around the parts of the house being renovated, adapted as the work moves from one area to the next.
-
Structural repairs
Access for rebuilding gables, repairing stonework and forming new openings.
-
Rendering & cladding
Full elevation access, so renderers and installers can reach every part of the wall.
-
Windows & doors

Safety
Safe at every stage of the build
A scaffold on a house sits close to everything that matters — the roof, the windows, the garden and the people living there — and on a building project it changes as the work does. Every scaffold we erect follows SG4 and TG20 guidance and the Work at Height Regulations, and our scaffolders keep their qualifications and training up to date.
Once it is up we inspect it at handover and at regular intervals while it stands, with extra checks after bad weather and whenever it is altered, so it stays safe for as long as your builders need it.
Our inspection service- Erected, altered and dismantled to SG4 and TG20 guidance
- Qualified scaffolders, with training kept up to date
- Inspected at handover, then at least every seven days
- Extra checks after high winds, with a written report each time

Questions about building work
The questions we hear most often from homeowners and builders planning an extension or renovation.
-
Can the scaffold be changed as the build goes on?
Yes. Extensions and renovations change as they go, and we adapt the scaffold to suit — adding a lift as the walls go up, or moving on to the next elevation. Let us know what’s coming next and we’ll plan the change around your builders.
-
Can you work with my builder?
Yes. We work alongside builders and other trades all the time, and are happy to plan the scaffold with whoever is running your project.
-
How much does domestic scaffolding cost?
There is no standard price. What it costs depends on the height and length of the scaffold, how long it needs to stand, and how easy the property is to reach. Tell us what you’re having done when you get in touch and we’ll come back to you with a clear, competitive price — no hidden costs.
-
How long can the scaffolding stay up?
For as long as the work needs it. While it stands we inspect it at handover and at least every seven days, with extra checks after high winds, so it stays safe if your programme runs on. Let us know the dates you expect to be working when you enquire, so the scaffold can be planned around them.
-
Will the scaffold damage my driveway or garden?
Scaffolding spreads its load through base plates and sole boards, so the weight is carried across paving, monobloc or grass rather than concentrated in one spot. Where a property is awkward — a conservatory, a bay window, uneven ground or a narrow lane — we design the base and the ties to suit it.
-
Do you work on both small and large projects?
Yes. Whether it’s scaffolding for a small home renovation or a large-scale commercial development, we have the experience, equipment, and skilled team to deliver a safe and reliable solution tailored to your needs.
