Domestic scaffolding around a house with an M.F Scaffold site banner

Domestic scaffolding for your home

Safe, reliable access for homeowners across Scotland — designed around your property, your programme and the work your trades need to do from it.

What we do

Your trusted domestic scaffolder in Scotland

  • Design, installation & removal
  • SG4 · TG20 standards
  • CHAS accredited

No two homes are the same. Whether the roof is coming off, a loft is being converted or the outside of the house is being painted, we design the scaffold around the property in front of us — its height, the access to it, the ground it stands on, and the work your trades need to do from it.

We look after the whole job: design, delivery, installation, inspection while it stands, and removal once the work is finished. Where a property is awkward — a narrow lane, uneven ground, a conservatory or a bay in the way — we build a scaffold to suit it.

Typical jobs

What we scaffold around the house

Most domestic scaffolds we put up are for one of these jobs. If yours isn’t on the list, it is still worth asking — we build to suit the property.

  • Roof repairs & re-roofing

Edge-protected platforms at eaves and ridge height, with loading bays where slates or tiles have to come down.

  • Loft conversions

Access for dormers, rooflights and structural work, kept clear of the openings your trades are working through.

  • Extensions & renovations

Scaffolding built around new openings, raised walls and rebuilt gables, and adapted as the work progresses.

  • Chimney stacks

Tight, well-braced access to repoint, rebuild or take down a stack safely.

  • Guttering, fascias & soffits

Short-duration platforms along the roofline for rainwater goods and boarding.

  • Painting & rendering

Full elevation access, so decorators and renderers can reach every part of the wall.

Safety

Committed to safety on every domestic project

A scaffold on a house sits close to everything that matters — the roof, the windows, the garden and the people living there. Every scaffold we erect follows SG4 and TG20 guidance and the Work at Height Regulations, and our scaffolders keep their qualifications and training up to date.

Once it is up we inspect it at handover and at regular intervals while it stands, with extra checks after bad weather, so the structure stays safe for as long as your trades need it.

Our inspection service
  • Erected and dismantled to SG4 and TG20 guidance
  • Qualified scaffolders, with training kept up to date
  • Inspected at handover, then at least every seven days
  • Extra checks after high winds, with a written report each time

Get in touch
  • How much does domestic scaffolding cost?

There is no standard price. What it costs depends on the height and length of the scaffold, how long it needs to stand, and how easy the property is to reach. Tell us what you’re having done when you get in touch and we’ll come back to you with a clear, competitive price — no hidden costs.

  • How long can the scaffolding stay up?

For as long as the work needs it. While it stands we inspect it at handover and at least every seven days, with extra checks after high winds, so it stays safe if your programme runs on. Let us know the dates you expect to be working when you enquire, so the scaffold can be planned around them.

  • Does scaffolding on the pavement need a licence?

If any part of the scaffold has to stand on a public footpath or road, the local authority has to license it before it goes up. Mention it when you enquire so it can be allowed for in the programme.

  • Will the scaffold damage my driveway or garden?

Scaffolding spreads its load through base plates and sole boards, so the weight is carried across paving, monobloc or grass rather than concentrated in one spot. Where a property is awkward — a conservatory, a bay window, uneven ground or a narrow lane — we design the base and the ties to suit it.

  • Do you work on both small and large projects?

Yes. Whether it’s scaffolding for a small home renovation or a large-scale commercial development, we have the experience, equipment, and skilled team to deliver a safe and reliable solution tailored to your needs.

  • How do you ensure safety on-site?

Safety is our top priority. All scaffolding is designed and erected to meet current UK safety regulations, including SG4, TG20, and Working at Height standards. Our qualified team also carries out regular inspections and provides health and safety reports to ensure full compliance throughout your project.

  • Can you supply temporary roofs?

Absolutely. Our team designs and installs temporary roof structures to protect your site from the elements. This is especially useful during roof works or when weather could otherwise cause delays.

  • Which areas do you cover?

We’re based in Airth, Stirlingshire, and proudly serve clients in Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, Fife, and across Scotland. If your project falls outside these areas, feel free to get in touch — we may still be able to help.
