Scaffolding in Scotland: your questions

The questions we’re asked most often by customers in Scotland.

Still have a question?

Speak to the team for tailored advice on your project.

Get in touch
  • Do I need a permit for scaffolding on the pavement?

If any part of the scaffold has to stand on a public road or pavement, yes. Under the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 it needs permission from the roads authority, which is the local council. A scaffold that stands entirely within your own boundary doesn’t. Mention it when you enquire so it can be allowed for in the programme.

  • How much does scaffolding cost in Scotland?

There is no standard price. It depends on the height and length of the scaffold, how long it needs to stand and how easy the property is to reach. Tell us what you’re having done and we’ll come back with a clear, competitive price with no hidden costs, arranging a site visit if one is needed.

  • Which parts of Scotland do you cover?

We’re based in Airth, Stirlingshire, and serve clients in Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, Fife and across Scotland — including Stirling, Perth & Kinross, Edinburgh, West Lothian, Glasgow and Lanarkshire. See all the areas we cover.

  • Do you take on projects outside central Scotland?

If your project falls outside the areas listed, feel free to get in touch — we may still be able to help.

  • How soon can you put up scaffolding?

It depends on the job and how busy we are, so the best thing is to ask. We are based in Airth, Stirlingshire, beside the M9 and the Kincardine Bridge. Tell us in the enquiry form whether the work is urgent or planned for the coming weeks, and we’ll confirm what we can do.
